First EnerTwin delivered to DLR

First EnerTwin delivered to DLR 23 february 2013

During mid-January2013, the first EnerTwin prototype was delivered to the German Aerospace Center DLR (Deutsches Zentrumfür Luft- und Raumfahrt), where it will initially been used for combustion research.

Later on, the EnerTwin will be combined with a high-temperature fuel cell (SOFC). The combination of a micro turbine and SOFC promises a very high electric efficiency. In such a hybrid system, EnerTwin will boost the fuel cell’s efficiency by ensuring an elevated operating pressure. At the same time, the fuel cell increases EnerTwin’s efficiency by recuperating exhaust heat into EnerTwin’s working cycle. Other projects on EnerTwin-based advanced energy researchare also being considered.
